Event Description
The next ACTnet Asia-Pacific Regional TB Journal Club will be held on Tuesday 20 October at 1:00 pm AEDT and will feature guest speaker Associate Professor Sarah Dunstan.
Associate Professor Sarah Dunstan is a Principal Research Fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Melbourne and a Laboratory Head at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. Her research uses human and pathogen genomics to better understand infectious diseases, with a particular focus on tuberculosis.
A/Prof Dunstan leads multidisciplinary research programs spanning microbial genomics, human genetics and infectious disease transmission, with a strong focus on high-burden settings in Asia. Her work aims to uncover how genetic variation in both humans and pathogens influences disease susceptibility, transmission, drug resistance and treatment outcomes. She is also co-lead of the Doherty Institute’s Global Health discipline and has longstanding international collaborations for TB research in Vietnam and Nepal.
