Event Description

The ACTnet Asia‑Pacific Regional TB Journal Club made an exciting return for 2026 with our first session on Tuesday, 3 March, from 1:00–2:00 PM (AEDT), where we were delighted to welcome Associate Professor Suman Majumdar as our guest speaker.


Suman is the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Program Director (Health Security and Pandemic Preparedness) at the Burnet Institute. An infectious diseases physician and global health researcher, he recently completed his doctoral thesis on strategies to end TB in high‑burden, multidrug‑resistant settings. His work draws on over a decade in Papua New Guinea’s Western Province, where he is Co‑Principal Investigator of the SWEEP‑TB community‑wide screening and prevention study.
