Event Description
The next ACTnet Asia-Pacific Regional TB Journal Club will be held on Tuesday 18 August at 1:00 pm AEST and will feature guest speaker Dr Qasim Mehmood & Hira Aslam.
Dr Mehmood is Senior Provincial Program Officer at the Provincial TB Control Program (PTP), Punjab, Pakistan, overseeing TB control across 36 districts and a USD 180 million Global Fund-supported portfolio. With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in Active Case Finding, MDR-TB, TB/HIV integration, and Public-Private Mix strategies. He holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Master of Public Health.
Hira Aslam is a doctoral researcher at Deakin University and the Burnet Institute, Australia, with over a decade of experience leading innovative TB programmes in Punjab, Pakistan. Her expertise includes implementation research, primary healthcare strengthening, capacity building, and person-centred DR-TB care. She has played a key role in provincial TB strategic planning and the implementation of innovative TB interventions to improve equitable access to quality care.
